This thing is a good improvment over the 500 series. It has the aerovac setup. It will vacuum and re dock itself when it is done with the room. I recommend using it when you are not around, as it is seems like it follows you around otherwise. It will not run off strairs, or suck up cords. This model will go over floor objects that the 500 series would not. Like rugs, floor registers, carpet edge strips in doorways etc.. It is like a 4×4 for the carpet world. It got stuck on me once and it will shut down if it can not get itself unstuck. It is pretty hard for it to get stuck. If it sucks up a cord it will stop , reverse the brushes and back away. There are a lot of improvments over the 500 series. Do your homework to see all the little options that each has. Even lowest model of 600 is better than the best 500. It might not have all the add on accessories, but its general function is better.

Picks up really well for such a small compact little thing..best of all it does it whilst im getting on with other stuff! An occassional run around with the normal vacuum -for corners/skirting- is needed now and again, a small trade off for cleaning under beds n furniture with no effort!
A must-buy for busy people id say 🙂

I have a 90 lb yellow lab that sheds like crazy… I got the Roomba, vacuumed the floor as normal, and called in the Roomba after that. I have 4 20×20 rooms. 2 hard 2 carpet. It does fill the bin faster than I would like, but what blew my mind was it had 4 bin fulls in the first run. I figure I will use this to supplement my vacuum as it gets places I cannot. We named her and have had a blast. only thing we have seen is a couple times it just gave up lookin for docking station, but we are to blame as it was kind of hidden.

We will simply turn it on when we leave from work every day. my wife and I are both amazed at how much cleaner out floors looked after one use. oh, we do have a very nice vacuum… but the dog leaves more than we can find
