Cleans quietly, easy to operate, at first it appears as though it will never get the floors clean, the vacuum takes off in different directions, doesn’t go back and forth, but the end the results are great. Every area of the floor is clean. I have it clean an 800ft area (hard floor) with many obstacles. It gets under all my furniture, maneuvers through the dining room chairs under the dining table, around my daughters toys, over area rug and back onto hard floors. A couple of times I thought the unit was going to run itself right down the stairs, but as advertised it detect the steps. It goes a 1/2 inch off the ledge and spins right back around.
You do have to clear cables or anything that the unit could get caught on. I made the mistake of not picking up a hanging cellphone cord and its wheel got tangled in the cord. And later that same day I forgot to put away my mop and its wheel got caught. Besides that the unit is capable of maneuvering around obstacles and going over floor matts or area rugs.
Not sure how well this unit would clean carpet, the bristles on the roller are very soft and the air suction is perfect for hard floors, but again I’m not certain how well it would clean carpet. This seems like it’s meant to clean hard floors. I only have hard floors so this unit is working great for me.
