While it’s priced well I’m underwhelmed so far with this robot vacuum. I’ve tried others before (Roomba 860, Neeto) and felt they did a better overall job cleaning. I was also disappointed that when Black & Decker announced this new line of robot vacuums in January 2017 the main “news” was that the robot would compress the dirt into easy-to-throw-away discs; apparently this feature was dropped, even though it was promoted heavily as the main new feature. It does have a larger capacity than other robot vacuums, but it comes at the expense of being higher than others (meaning it can’t get under couches that the others can). The main cleaning issue I have is when it transitions from carpet to wood floor it drops a dust bunny and doesn’t always go back for it – ended up with a number of them left on otherwise nicely vacuumed floor. In summary, despite being new it doesn’t seem to have advantages over other brands except price; its clearly a good value but not a great one.

Upgrading from Roomba 560, really good for the price, June 17, 2017

Not bad, upgrading from Roomba 560 at not Roomba price. ~100 minutes of clean time, easier to clean than the Roomba, no voice and only beeps. iPhone app is easy to configure and get started, only connects via Bluetooth; bluetooth range isn’t bad and I keep it upstairs but can connect if I walk underneath it from downstairs. Not as loud as the Roomba, can hear distinct change as it adjusts between carpet and hardwood floor. Roomba has had its share of idiotic moments, this seems to force its way under low clearances under the bed and causing me to have to fish it out when it gets stuck. Seems to clean just as well, if not better than Roomba 560.

Few online reviews was a little alarming, hope I can help someone else. Black + Decker products seem to have improved greatly after the last couple of years and I’ve bought several of their products with the intent of more frequent upgrades over time, rather than an enduring, expensive, and outdated product. I think this is no exception as to product line improvement, glad they decided to get into the robot vacuum market as I am not disappointed with the product. A few extra replacement parts included. No major frills, keeps the floor generally debris and hair/fur-free.

Would recommend it to anyone else that has manageable OCD with any debris on floor and wants to save time and do other things.

June 24, 2017 Edit: Maintenance is a breeze, winds up lots of long hair in the brush, emptying dust bin is simple, all taking as much periodic maintenance as the Roomba. Audible squeals tells me when something is wrong, connecting via app on phone will tell me what’s going on. Regarding the app, vacuum info tells me hardware version 1.0 and firmware version is 0.5; possible an upgrade at some point?

    BEST ROBOVAC UNDER $400, July 20, 2017

Ok. I love this robovac. I have had at least 5 roombas, a deebot and a iLife. This beats em all. I have a German sheppard that sheds like crazy. This is the ONLY robot vac that can actually do multiple cycles without having to empty the bin twice per charge. It IS taller than many others, but it still easily vacuums under beds (but not most couches). It gets pet hair out of my area rugs better than the roombas.
CONS-it doesn’t map as well as the $800 robots with cameras, and it doesn’t recharge and resume. It would also be nice to have virtual walls like the roomba.
But it does the job (which primarily is allowing me not to vacuum pet hair EVERY DAY.).
The LED version is cool, but probably not worth the extra $100. But it is definitely worth it to get the pet version.
I’ve only had it two days, so I can’t speak to longevity.
