This TRULY has better performance than my Dyson!,
Of all 3 vacuums I currently own, the Bissell Trilogy Bagless is BY FAR the best performing unit. I am comparing it to both my Dyson Root 8 Cyclone and my lower end Dirt Devil Power Reach Pet. (surprisingly, the Dirt Devil power reach vac at under $100 bucks was my “go to” vacuum as it just worked better than the Dyson overall)
SO is this Bissell as good as the much more expensive Dyson? Can it really stand up? Being the sole cleaner in my household I am going to give you my honest appraisal so please read on!
First of all, the Bissell’s sheer suction power visibly removes more dirt and debris with much less work. The Dyson requires going over and over a section as much as 3 or 4 times to do what the Bissell will accomplish in 1 or two passes at the very most. This is quite impressive considering the Dyson costs more than 3 times the price of this Bissell Trilogy. Getting rid of the dirt is very simple with their “easy empty” dirt cup. Parts come off and snap back with authority. No worries about it falling apart in the process. As with most bagless vacuums, you DO need to periodically clean the filter but that too is easy with no degree in rocket science required.
The Trilogy is built very well as far as plastic vacuums go. It feels solid, not wobbly and has a comforting engine roar that while loud, sounds smooth and powerful. (and it IS) The attachments are very good. They attach easily (unlike my Dyson which has broken twice just using and removing the attachments) Both the Turbo Brush and Contour Tool are useful and fully functional. I tried the Turbo on a sofa and the results were fantastic. The attachment hose is built well and works perfectly. I can not comment on the spray cleaner that is included as I avoid using chemicals when I clean. (just diluted bleach water usually for floors) The cord is more than long enough and not some thin cheapo either. All in all it’s nice to have a vacuum that I am confident can withstand some pretty heavy use and perform at this level.
Speaking of confidence, this Bissell comes with a full 3 year warranty in a day and age where 90 day warranties are the norm. NICE!
If I had one thing to wish for with this Bissell it would be for a headlight. A nice LED array would help quite a bit but at this price and with this level of vacuuming performance I suppose you can’t have everything and still keep the price point low.
I live in a very large home with about 2650 feet of wall to wall carpeting that provides me with plenty of work each week and a very good way to evaluate vacuums. Our hallway runs the entire length of the home and has about the same traffic levels so by doing one half with the Dyson and one with the Bissell I could easily see which one picked up the most dirt and how easily it was to accomplish this. Both the Bissell and the Dirt Devil push pretty easily with the Dyson taking a bit more effort. As I stated earlier in this review, the Bissell removes VISIBLY more dirt than my other vacuums, easily besting the Dyson and getting at least 25% more out of the carpets and more quickly.
If you live in an area with a lot of dust, dirt or sand, or have pets, you could do a lot worse than this Bissell trilogy. It TRULY sucks big time. (but in a good way)
It is very cost effective, works great and comes with that nice 3 year warranty. With money being so tight these days, this is a great value and gets an honest recommendation from Marty G.

Good Filter,
I’ve used Filtrete filters in the past for other things (like home HVAC systems) and have had good luck. Of all the filters available for my Bissell Cyclonic vacuum, I was hoping this would filter the best. I have no way to prove it other than to tell you that it filters better than the previous Arm & Hammer filter I had in. I know this because I see less (actually no) dust coming through it compared the A&H and it gets dirtier faster which means its collecting more dust & dirt. That’s what you want… dust and dirt in the filter rather than floating in the air in your home or apartment.

Filters great,
What can you say about a filter. It either filters or doesn’t and this one does a great job. I don’t think I can write 20 words but I am trying.
