The Vacuum is amazing once you fix it,
Ok so I could give this a rating of 2 stars because of the fact that Dyson’s QA department is apparently not as great, as the product description makes it out to be.
So lets hammer out the 2 cons about this product:
After receiving it I was going through it and showing my wife where the filters are at I discovered that, oops Dyson didn’t put a filter inside the canister. So I called Dyson and told them about it and they shipped me out a new filter but they can only ship ground.
Ok so new filter installed ready to vacuum. Nope the head unit isn’t picking up a thing off the floor and it doesn’t sound right. So the wife and I flip it over and start investigating. Oh look another problem. There is a hose in the middle of the ball on the bottom of the vacuum. The hose was not connected like it should’ve been. So we just snapped the hose back into place and viola the vacuum works great.
So the pros.
This thing is awesome. We ran our 2 year old Bissel a few days before we got the new filter in. So after running the Bissel we then ran the Dyson. The Dyson picked up all sorts of things. The suction on this thing is just amazing.
The ball technology is awesome. We have a sectional and in the past had to work the vacuum around to get the angle of the sectional. Not anymore, just a twist of the wrist and that vacuum can go anywhere.
I also bought the Dyson Animal handheld attachment and the suction of this vacuum makes that thing fly.
So all in all I am quite impressed with this vacuum. Yes it is a refurb and the canister is a little cloudy just as the description says and the ball did have some signs of wear on it. Otherwise this thing is awesome. So if you’re looking to save yourself some money and don’t mind a little scratch here or there and who knows maybe the QA department will do better with your vacuum then they did with mine then this is the vacuum for you. Othewise if you need a shiny new one then get the one for 400 bucks.

Looks and works like new!,
I absolutely love my Dyson DC40. I was hesitant for a while about buying refurbished. The cost of a brand new Dyson was way beyond my reach and I needed to replace my old Dirt Devil. So I decided to try the refurbished.
Other than the fact that it only has a 6 month warranty, you would think this was a brand new machine. Not a mark on it and every hose and filter appear to never have been used, not even a scratch on the canister!
Like everything else in this world you will hear both good and bad about Dyson. So far I haven’t found anything to complain about. This machine is light weight and so easy to use. It’s quiet and the multi floor self adjusting head is great. I have carpet, wood and tile floors in my home and this machine works better and more easily than any machine I have had in the past.
