This vacuum works so well I rarely take out my Big vacuum.It will pick up dry cat food easily, as well as short Christmas tree needles, hair, wood shavings, litter. I must note that you have to keep it clean. I bought several extra filters on-line and after I use it for a while I change filters. I rinse off the old one and let it dry thouroughly, and put a clean one in. I also check the small door on the bottom to make sure the path is clear to the dust chamber. If this is clogged it will seem like it’s not working properly. Definitely worth the money.
