Sustain the battery life with this little trick,
If I had rated this vacuum 4 years ago, I would have given it only 2 stars, because the battery would not hold a charge after 9 months of use. I went on the Internet and found a battery for my Oreck Electrikbroom, and learned a little trick that has my old Oreck operating over 3 years on the same battery with no problem.
DO NOT PLUG IN THE VACUUM AFTER EVERY USE. You want to run down the battery to almost empty before plugging it in again. I can get about 20 minutes of good power before I have to recharge. With a hairy dog in my house, I use mine for 3 or 4 days before I plug it in overnight to fully charge by morning.
As for cleaning, you need to remember that this unit is not meant to clean like a full sized vacuum. It does get up pet hair, crumbs, dirt from shoes etc. for quick clean-up. I use it on wood, tile and frisee carpeting. However, it labors too much to vacuum some of my throw rugs.
