When it says to run the battery down, don’t let the Roomba just return to the base.,
But it returns home, not because the battery is empty but because it’s hour of cleaning is done. So, you have to take it back off the charger and let it continue to run until it runs **all the way down** until it can’t move anymore. The best way to do this is to stick it in a room where it can’t get back to the base, or just unplug the base so it can’t find it/recharge. When you find it stopped in a room, *start it back up* until it won’t start again. For me, it ran for another solid hour (over 2.5 hours total)! Once it’s fully dead, charge it up fully and start that process over again and do it a total of 2-3 times. After that, it lasts a long time and has way more charge (2x+) than it needs to clean.
I’ve seen other reviews on other replacement Roomba batteries where I think the buyer assumed that when it returned to the base that it was empty and let it charge again… that is not the case and doing it that way will cause issues for the battery for the rest of it’s life.
