I’ve never repaired a vacuum cleaner before other than changing belts and filters. My roller locked up on my vacuum and I thought for sure I’d need to buy a whole new vacuum. Well I took a chance and bought this roller instead. I’m so glad I did. The vacuum works like brand new. The roller was easy to install, works excellent and the vacuum is finally quiet again. I saved a lot over buying a new vac… very happy.

|Easy & Cheap Fix for the vacuum,
Like a lot of reviewers, our Bissell vacuum was real loud when we ran it. There was also the smell of melting plastic. When I took the bottom off the vacuum and took the existing roller off, I noticed there was a lot of play in it. In other words, it wasn’t turning perfectly. The noise was the roller moving around and bouncing off the underside. I read somewhere, something about ball bearings inside the rollers that go bad (sudden flashback to the movie Fletch….”It’s all ball bearings nowadays”……but I digress)
Anyway, I ordered this part, put it on the sweeper (it really takes about 30 seconds that include opening the package). Turned the sweeper on and it worked like new. If your Bissell vacuum is real loud and the noise is coming from the roller area, this part will fix it. You require NO TOOLS to change the part either.

I read another persons review on this bissell brush and it seems they were having the same problems with their vacuum with extreme loudness as I now was experiencing with mines and that it had cured the problem. So, I took a leap of faith and purchased it! Miraculously my cleaner was quiet again. Who ever would have thought it was the brush? I am so pleased. Saved me from buying and entirely new one.
