This review is from: Black & Decker ORB4810 Orb Hand Vac, Grey (Kitchen)

This tiny vac only arrived this morning, but since there are no other reviews yet, I can report that it:
1 looks great on the kitchen counter – almost like a high-tech snail (with the duster attachment as the head)
2 is tiny, about the size and shape of a softball.
3 is quiet, almost silent compared to the larger Black and Decker hand vac my son’s family uses
4 is easy to use: just fold out the handle and spout and hit the power button to start, hit a button on top to fold up, and drop it on its tiny flat charging base to charge. To empty dirt, just pull up the dirt cover and empty it.
I’ll update this in a few weeks, after we’ve put it to lasting use, but it’s absolutely everything we hoped it would be so far.
    Highly recommended!

    Update:
1 There’s no need to fold the Orb for storage, unless you want to for best appearance or to save counter space. Otherwise, just plop it on the charging plate with handle still extended and dust brush already installed for extra-quick and easy use.
2 Once charged, the battery definitely lasts long enough for several minutes of use.
3 Emptying the dirt is even easier than I thought at first. Just tilt it over a trash bin, flip open the dirt cover with a finger, and tap the case against the side of the bin and the dirt falls into the bin.

Nicely designed vac. Creates good suction, after charging will run 8 minutes plus. No need to store it away in a closet; due to its attractive design it looks fine sitting on a counter or desk.

I’ve used it a few times, does the simple job of acting as dustpan quite nicely. Very easy to store, and you don’t have to hide it. The blue LED charging light is a bit bright, so you may not want it in a bedroom or TV home theater room.

Update July 2012: I’m “birdsitting” two parakeets and this thing does a wonderful job of sucking up feathers and seed hulls! The filter turns out to be VERY easy to remove and clean with a little compressed air. I can leave it off the charger, and right next to the cage, for a week at a time for quick daily feather removal. The motor is quiet enough the birds really don’t care.
