I made the mistake of reading the reviews AFTER we came home with the vacuum. Needless to say, we consider boxing it up and returning it. We decided to take the leap of faith and try it out. It seems to work like a champ. I tried the implements, and tried it on hard surfaces and on carpet. This vacuum sucks like a porn star. I don’t understand why the prior review are so poor. I guess if I had to name a drawback, it would be that it is a little loud. Our other vacuum is a Dysn DC17 Animal, and this rivals it in every respect. Believe me when I report that this vacuum is not nearly as bad as the reviews here on Amazon would lead you to believe, especially when considering the price.

I bought 2, one for upstairs and downstairs. It works well on my hard ceramic tiles and carpet. It picks up dog hair and fine dirt exceptionally well. So well that you will have to empty the canister multiple times per bedroom. I gave it a 4 because the attachment assembly isn’t well thought out.

I also bought this at Costco for a much lower price AFTER reading the reviews. I was skeptical about the problems described having owned an Electrolux product before. I replaced a Dyson with this vacuum and all I can say is that it outperforms the Dyson is every way except that is VERY SLIGHTLY louder. Still very tolerable and on the quiet end of the scale for a vacuum. I’ve been using it regularly for several weeks now and it has performed flawlessly. For those with clogging problems I don’t know what to say. This thing is sucking up beach sand, crap off my work boots, dog hair, girlfriend hair (even worse than log hair, lol) and still devours dirt like a black hole. I actually vacuumed my two bedroom apartment with this immediately after the Dyson went over it and had to empty it twice. That says a lot. As for hose problems, if you can’t get the hose back in without kinks and twists I have to ask if you have trouble operating doorknobs as well. I even looked it over when I was assembling it and have a similar opinion of someone having difficulty removing and clogs that may result. Most likely as a result of failing to empty the canister and letting the dirt back up into the hose as that’s the only way I can see it happening after using it. Bare floor performance is as expected. No issues. just mop up when you’re done and my corners came clean fine. To sum it up, I’ve owned several vacuums over the years. Both more expensive and less expensive than this model. This one is by far the most bang for your buck of any I’ve ever owned. The Dyson was very nice, very quiet, and maybe a little lighter, but this performs much better. Hit up a Costco when this is on sale and it’s a steal.
