My Roomba was in need of some service, so I went ahead and bought this upgrade kit. I am more satisfied with this little guy now, than I was when I first bought it. I ran my Roomba after getting the upgrade and I was able to do the entire main floor of my house without emptying the bin, whereas before, I would have to empty it about 3/4 of the way through. Also, there was no dog hair stuck in the brush.
As for the one-star reviewer on the black version of this item, the canister’s capacity is in fact greater for two reasons. One, the design and positioning of the filter provides more room for dust and debris. Two, the upgrade allows for the dirt to be compressed in the canister without impacting performance. This is most definitely an upgrade and totally worth it, especially if you have pets or kids.
