Oreck Handheld Edge Cordless Vacuum,
This is another solid product from Oreck. I wanted a true (battery driven) portable for ease of use to vacuum my car, and fast jobs around the house such as quick cleanups (spilled coffee grounds etc.), dusting blinds, cleaning up dust around my computer/printer, and similar small jobs [I previously had an 18V B&D, but found it was not flexible enough to do very many real cleanups]. The Oreck Cordless is perfect for these tasks. And the Amazon price is a steal! My Oreck Edge Cordless Portable is powerful, has all the major tools, has an “expanding” hose (plenty long), hypo-allergenic sealing bags for clean disposal (it comes with one … I bought more at my dealer who didn’t even “have” this vacuum yet … only the corded version), and a charging station for the Li-Ion battery. Battery lasts for about 15 minutes in heavy use. Vacuum is surpisingly quiet, though the battery version, unlike the corded version, only has one speed … but that seems fine. My only complaint is I wish this product were actually made in the US vs. China (what I really expected from Oreck … maybe that’s in the works)!!! The only reason I give the Edge Cordless 4 instead of 5 stars, is the battery time and country of production … but, as to run time, I think the power and convenience features more than make up for that. Otherwise I’ll get my XL21 out!! Plus, the Edge does recharge, as advertised, in an hour or less. Great product, quick shipping and wonderful price from Amazon!! Get one!!
